1995년 미국 휴스턴에서 결성되어 1999년에야 첫 앨범을 낸 중고 네오펑크밴드라 할만한 Fenix TX. 는 말 그대로 80년대 섹쉬 앤 큐티 스타 피비 케이츠를 '모시고' 상콤발랄하게 풀어낸 흥겨운 곡으로, 젊음이 넘치는 사운드 답게 영화 [American Pie 2]에 수록됐다.
Fenix TX는 여느 록밴드들이 그렇듯이 지역 밴드에서 시작해 더 큰 도시로 옮기면서 메이저 레이블과 계약한 케이스. Blink 182, Unwritten Law, Buck-o-Nine, Reel Big Fish 등과 함께 무대에 서며 인지도를 넓혔고 Duran Duran과 함께 공연하기도 했다.
1999년 동명의 데뷔앨범 [Fenix TX](115위)를 발매. 등이 긍정적인 반응을 이끌어냈는데 는 모던록차트 21위에 오르기도 했다. 투어에 보다 많은 노력을 기울인 이들은 2001년 보다 높은 곳으로 날았으면 좋으련만... 이란 희망으로 2집 [Lechuza]를 내놓았지만 87위에 그치면서 내부적으로 침체를 맞이했다. 2002년 결국 각자의 길을 모색하는가 했지만 2005년 [Purple Reign in Blood]을 선보이며 한번 더 대중에 다가가려고 노력중이다. 
사실 의 흥겨움을 더 맛보고 싶다면 이 곡이 수록된 2장의 앨범, 이들의 2집인 [Lechuza]과 [American Pie 2] OST 중 후자를 듣는 게 더 나을것이다.  한가닥 한다는 젊은 펑크 친구들은 거의 얼굴을 보이고 있기 때문인데, Blink 182, Green Day, Left Front Tire, American Hi-Fi, 3 Doors Down, Flying Blind, Sum 41를 만날 수 있는데다 노래들 역시 상당한 퀄리티를 자랑하고 있다.
재미있는 것은 의 주인 Fenix TX의 원래 밴드명은 Riverfenix였다는 것. 왠지 리버 피닉스와 피비 케이츠가 연결되는 분위기...?^^; 실제 이 둘은 영화 [바람둥이 길들이기(I Love You To Death)]에 함께 출연했다. 피비가 잠깐 단역으로 나왔기에 '함께'라는 단어가 조금 어색하지만 어쨌건 나오긴 나왔다는 사실.
