Edenbridge (에덴브릿지)
에덴브리지는 오스트리아 린츠(Linz)출신의 랑발이 결성한 그룹으로, 그는 클래식을 전공하였지만 평소 즐겨듣는 음악은 드림 씨어터(Dream Theater), 섀도우 갤러리(Shadow Gallery), 로열 헌트(Royal Hunt) 같은 헤비메틀이라고 한다. 랑발은 클래식과 락음악의 영향을 받은 솔로 앨범을 3장 발매하며 작곡가로서의 능력을 과시했고, 밴드로서의 파워풀한 음악을 만들어보고 싶은 마음에 98년 멤버들을 규합했다. 아름다운 목소리 못지 않게 뛰어난 미모까지 겸비한 보컬리스트 사비나를 비롯해, 베이시스트인 커트와 드러머 롤란드가 가입하자 곧 밴드로서의 진용이 갖춰졌으며, 랑발은 자신이 좋아하느 락 그룹들의 장점을 모두 수용해, 멜로디어스하고 프로그레시브하며, 스피디한 곡들을 쓰기 시작하다. 그 즈음, 에덴 브리지의 잠재성을 눈여겨 본 Massacre는 이들과의 계약을 제시했고, 얼마의 시간이 지나고 난 후 데뷔작 [Sunshine In Eden]이 발매됐다. 그리 오랫동안 호흡을 맟춰보지 못했음에도 불구하고, 에덴브리지의 데뷔작은 전세계의 멜로딕메틀 팬에게 큰 감동을 주었으며, 이는 두 번째 앨범에 대한 기대로 이어졌다. 이에대한 답례로 랑발은 자신에게 도착하는 팬들의 이메일을 항상 열린 마음으로 꼼꼼히 살펴봣으며, 데뷔작의 부족했던 점이 무엇인지 일일이 체크하는 일을 손에서 놓지 않았다. 이 와중에 세컨드 기타리스트 요르그가 밴드에 가입했으며, 그와 함께 핑크 크림69(Pink Cream 69), 엑시스(Axis)의 공연에도 참가했다.
[Arcana]는 데뷔작 [Sunshine In Eden]에 비해, 크게 세 가지의 사운드 변화 양상을 보인다. 전작이 헤비메틀 다웠고 한편으로 아트락이나 팝의 모습또한 짙었던 것이 사실이었지만 하나의 장르로 규정할수 없는 다양성이 존재해 있었다. 그러나 [Arcana]는 훨씬 공격적인 음악을 담고있으며 고전적인 중심에서 벗어나 모던한 감각을 담고 있다는 점이다.
